Pretty In Pink

Last weekend Rhett attended his first birthday party for a little girl who was turning one. The party was far from ordinary. It was Pinkalicious. The only requirement was that all attendants must come adorned in their very best pink.

I thought long and hard about this requirement and the potential damage it could do to my developing son. The decision was that Rhett would wear pink, but it would be on our terms. Rhett wore a custom pink shirt listing the top five reasons why 'I' wear pink, black crocs marked with tiny skull and crossbones, and a heart and dagger tattoo on his right arm that both showcased his bicep muscles and his rugged toughness. The outcome was a pinkalicious little boy.
