The Cattle Man

Rhett and I are on a week long road trip. We take these journeys twice a year to both expose Rhett to distant family and fine country living. This time, our visit began in Starks, Louisiana. It's a breath away from the Texas border, but miles away from life as we know it. In Starks rests a quaint place called Shiny Ridge Farm. This is where my Aunt and Uncle live. There are also cattle, fowl, mules, donkeys, dogs and cats that roam the 26 acre estate. Rhett loves it here. The rustic lifestyle and up close encounters with livestock are what make this place special. I know Rhett will miss it here and I have a feeling that he will be missed too. After all, it isn't every day that you have a 800 pound Longhorn eating out of the palm of your hand.
